Transfer Market: Fiorentina Focused on Defenders
There are many links such as Emanuel Eboue (Arsenal), Luisao (Benfica), Juan (AS Roma), Philippe Mexes (AS Roma), Burdisso (Inter), also Lazio’s youngster Lorenzo De Silvestri. In this season transfer campaign, the Tuscan club gives extra attention to seeking central defender, right defender and defensive midfielder. From the list, the most wanted player is Emmanuel Eboue. According to fiorentinanews.it the agreement between Fiorentina and Eboue is very close. The Ivorian right full-back price around €9 million, actually Arsenal asket fo €12 million but Fiorentina offered €6.5 million. In this case the transfer fee solution could be found in the middle (€9 million) with estimated wages €1.5 million/year.
On central defender, Fiorentina prioritizing on Juan (AS Roma) Brazilian defender. After signed Cesare Natali former Torino’s stopper, Fiorentina’s transfer guru Pantaleo Corvino seems want to strengthen the central defender side. Another alternative player to sign if agreement between fiorentina and Roma have stalled is Portuguese stopper Lusiao (Benfica), but the difference between Fiorentina offer and Benfica demand is in region €4 million.
Last but not least, after the departure of Felipe Melo to Juventus, Fiorentina seems like less attractive to bring a strong defensive midfielder. Instead Fiorentina already satisfied with Marchionni arrival to Firenze (part of Felipe Melo’s transfer to Juventus). Also according to firenzeviola.it Fiorentina might be looking for low cost spending to obtain defensive midfielders such as Edinho (Lecce) and Mateo Brighi (AS Roma).
If we can look further, maybe Cesare Prandelli like to strengthen the central defensive (Gamberini-Natali/Juan/Luisao) and the wings (Pasqual/Vargas-Jovetic on the left flank and Eboue-Santana/Marchionni on the right flank).
